Hyde-Smith betrayed Mississippians by cutting their healthcare, SNAP benefits, supporting tariffs that raised costs on goods. Hyde-Smith supported a war in Iran that has caused gas prices to skyrocket on everyday families. When she had a chance to vote for funding to support Mississippi infrastructure, she choose not too and she actively disrespects her constitutients. Hyde-Smith is out of touch of everyday Mississippians.
¶ Hyde-Smith Supported Tariffs Which Harmed Mississippiâs Economy

Hyde-Smith defended Trump's tariffs and claimed that it was being used âwiselyâ even though the impacts of the tariffs are negatively impacting Mississippians throughout the state. Tariffs were contributing to higher grocery prices, higher prices for Mississippi businesses and higher input costs for farmers.

As a result of the trade war caused by the tariffs, China has slowed their purchasing of American soybeans and instead started buying them from other markets, severely harming Mississippian farmers who grow soybeans.
Message: Hyde-Smith is siding with reckless tariffs and is choosing higher prices and hurting Mississippi's access to the global market over protecting affordability and Mississippians' livelihoods.

The war in Iran was been havoc on Mississippian's wallets. The War in Iran caused gas and diesel prices to skyrocket which hurt Mississippian families as well as Mississippi farmers. The war also caused fertilizer prices to increase which also further harmed farmer's ability to turn a profit and stay above water.
Message: Hyde-Smith cheered on a war that was raising gas and fertilizer prices, tightening Mississippian families and farmer's pockets.
¶ Hyde-Smith Took Donations From Big Fertilizer Companies While Farmers Were Struggling With Soaring Costs
- Hyde-Smith accepted $14,000 from Nutrien and Koch Industries who were accused of colluding to keep the price of fertilizer high.
Message: While Mississippi Farmers were being squeezed, Hyde-Smith took money from the fertilizer companies that were doing the squeezing.
¶ Hyde-Smith Dismissed Concerns About The Rising Cost Of Beef
- While beef prices were climbing for Mississippi families, instead of finding bipartisan solutions to decrease rising food costs, Hyde-Smith dismissed concerns and claimed that Americans who couldn't afford beef âhave so many proteins to choose from.â
Message: Hyde-Smith was out of touch with the financial concerns of everyday Mississippian families.

Hyde-Smith voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill which provided critical funding for Mississippi infrastructure. The infrastructure bill provided funding for water infrastructure, bridges, roads and rail upgrades. Despite voting against the package, she happily touted the projects that the bill paid for.

Hyde-Smith's fellow senator, Senator Wicker, did vote for the legislation and highlighted that the investments were âbadly neededâ and âhistoric.â
Message: Hyde-Smith touted critical spending that she voted against and was out of touch with the needs of Mississippi.

- Hyde-Smith repeatedly opposed the Affordable Care Act premium subsidies and dismissed Mississippians who faced increased healthcare costs.
- 200,000 Mississippi residents were projected to drop their insurance without the Affordable Care Act premium subsidies and health insurance costs in Mississippi increased by 41%.
- Hyde-Smith supported the GOPâs Big Beautiful Bill; the Senator praised the damaging legislation and downplayed the Medicaid cuts contained therein.
- Six rural Mississippi hospitals were at risk of closure from the Big Beautiful Billâs Medicaid cuts and Mississippi hospitals were projected to lose $1 billion. 115,000 Mississippians expected to lose their healthcare benefits under the Big Beautiful Bill and healthcare enrollment rates dropped by 8%.

¶ Hyde-Smith Used Racially Insensitive Language And Embraced Confederate History
- Hyde-Smith had a long history of embracing a history that was insensitive to Black Mississippians. At a campaign event, Hyde-Smith claimed that if the man who introduced her invited her to a public hanging that she would be in âthe front row.â Her comments drew condemnation from Mississippi's Black community and when asked about it, she claimed that the expression didn't have a ânegative connotation.â
- Hyde-Smith repeatedly embraced confederate history including posing in with a confederate hat.
- Hyde-Smith attended an all white segregation academy that was founded when the state had to integrate the public schools.
Message: How can Hyde-Smith be trusted to continue representing Mississippi if she continuously disrespects her Black constituents.
¶ Hyde-Smith Campaigned With A Sheriff Whose Office Contained An Alleged âGoon Squad"
- Hyde-Smith campaigned with a sheriff who claimed that he didn't know a âgoon squadâ was operating under his nose. Officers under Sheriff Bailey's command tortured and sexually assaulted Black residents of Rankin County.
- Sheriff Bailey also was accused of misusing his influence to spy on his girlfriend's phone and having inmates at the Rankin County jail do manual labor on his mother;'s farm where some claimed that they were unpaid.
Message: How can Hyde-Smith be trusted to continue representing Mississippi if she is campaigning with those who were accused of misusing their power and had a âgoon squadâ operating under their nose.
¶ Hyde-Smith Voted To Protect Her Stock Portfolio
- Hyde-Smith voted to block a ban on congressional stock trading and refused to comment on her vote. Hyde-Smith was far wealthier than the average Mississippian and voted to protect her investment portfolio; the Senator owned telecommunications stocks and was worth over $1.3 million.
Message: Hyde-Smith voted to protect her stock portfolio and wanted to get rich off Mississippiansâ Senate seat.
