Hyde-Smith betrayed Mississippians by cutting their healthcare, SNAP benefits, supporting tariffs that raised costs on goods. Hyde-Smith supported a war in Iran that has caused gas prices to skyrocket on everyday families. When she had a chance to vote for funding to support Mississippi infrastructure, she choose not too and she actively disrespects her constitutients. Hyde-Smith is out of touch of everyday Mississippians.
Hyde-Smith defended Trump's tariffs and claimed that it was being used âwiselyâ even though the impacts of the tariffs are negatively impacting Mississippians throughout the state. Tariffs were contributing to higher grocery prices, higher prices for Mississippi businesses and higher input costs for farmers.
As a result of the trade war caused by the tariffs, China has slowed their purchasing of American soybeans and instead started buying them from other markets, severely harming Mississippian farmers who grow soybeans.
Message: Hyde-Smith is siding with reckless tariffs and is choosing higher prices and hurting Mississippi's access to the global market over protecting affordability and Mississippians' livelihoods.
Hyde-Smith supported and defended the ongoing war in Iran and claimed that a resolution to end the war was âprimarily rooted in a deep personal dislike for president Trump.â
The war in Iran was been havoc on Mississippian's wallets. The War in Iran caused gas and diesel prices to skyrocket which hurt Mississippian families as well as Mississippi farmers. The war also caused fertilizer prices to increase which also further harmed farmer's ability to turn a profit and stay above water.
Message: Hyde-Smith cheered on a war that was raising gas and fertilizer prices, tightening Mississippian families and farmer's pockets.
Message: While Mississippi Farmers were being squeezed, Hyde-Smith took money from the fertilizer companies that were doing the squeezing.

Hyde-Smith voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill which provided critical funding for Mississippi infrastructure. The infrastructure bill provided funding for water infrastructure, bridges, roads and rail upgrades. Despite voting against the package, she happily touted the projects that the bill paid for.
Hyde-Smith's fellow senator, Senator Wicker, did vote for the legislation and highlighted that the investments were âbadly neededâ and âhistoric.â
