¶ How To Win Against Jeff Crank
Crank was a life-long political insider who was out-of-touch with the needs of everyday Coloradans. As a former congressional staffer, state director of Americans for Prosperity Colorado, and now congressman Crank has not stood up to protect Coloradans’ health care or hard-earned benefits. He voted to kick thousands of Coloradans off their health coverage and to let premiums increase for Coloradans who relied on the Affordable Care Act to access health insurance. He voted for a bill that would trigger Medicare cuts and supported an agency that hamstrung Social Security. He even supported that agency as it presented a threat to federal employees and veterans. He voted to take food assistance from Coloradans and supported tariffs that made the already expensive cost-of-living in Colorado worse. As a lifelong political operative who has wanted this congressional seat since 2006, Crank is more concerned with being in elected office than listening to the needs of Coloradans.
¶ Crank Voted To Rip Health Coverage from thousands of coloradans
- Crank voted for a bill that would kick 17 million Americans off their health insurance, including nearly 12 million Americans off Medicaid. As a result of his vote, more than 23,000 of his own constituents were at risk of losing their health coverage. Crank ultimately called the bill a “win for the American people.”
- Crank also opposed extending the enhanced Affordable Care Act premium tax credits because he believed they were a “band-aid on a gaping wound.” He voted three times against extending the tax credits that helped Coloradans afford health insurance. As a result of Crank’s votes, Coloradans who relied on the ACA for health coverage faced steeppremium increases.
Message: Crank voted to rip away health care from thousands of Coloradans to give tax breaks to billionaires.
¶ Crank Voted For Medicare cuts
- In May 2025, Crank voted for a bill that would trigger nearly $500 billion in Medicare cuts absent future congressional action. More than one million Coloradans relied on Medicare for health coverage. Crank ultimately called the bill a “win for the American people.”

¶ Crank VOTED to cut food assistance coloradans relied on to afford groceries
- Crank voted for a bill that made the largest SNAP cut in history. His vote threatened food assistance for more than 31,000 households in Colorado’s 5th congressional district. SNAP and other federal food assistance cuts exacerbated food insecurity in Southern Colorado. Crank ultimately called the bill a “win for the American people.”

¶ Crank Backed Trump’s Tariffs even though they amounted to a large tax increase on coloradans
- Crank claimed he was “not a giant fan” of tariffs because of the cost increases they created, but has voted to protect them anyway. When asked for his opinion on Trump administration actions over the first few months of his presidency, including tariffs, Crank said he would give the president an “A.” He then voted six times to defend Trump’s tariffs, including in April 2025 when he was the deciding vote to protect the tariffs. Tariffs have raised costs on Colorado small businesses and the state Treasurer said they had cost Colorado businesses $1.1 billion in 2025. They also amounted to a $1,000 tax increase on Americans.

¶ Crank Supported An agency that hamstrung social security and threatened jobs in his district
- After DOGE announced sweeping cuts to the federal government that threatened jobs in his district, , Crank declared “I love what DOGE is doing.” Crank’s county included 40,000 active-duty military members and 80,000 retired veterans, and 40 percent of the district’s economy was tied to the defense industry.
- Crank defended DOGE amid the agency’s downsizing efforts that affected the federal government’s ability to deliver services to seniors. More than 125,000 Coloradans in the 5th congressional district relied on Social Security benefits.
Message: Crank applauded the Trump administration as it hamstrung Social Security threatened jobs in his district.
¶ Crank Opposed Protecting Coloradans’ Reproductive Freedoms
- In 2024, Crank said he would support a national abortion ban. He also claimed women had abortions for “convenience.” He also supported Texas’ 2021 law that effectively banned abortion after six weeks, before many women knew they were pregnant. In 2026, he touted receiving an “A+” rating from an anti-choice advocacy group, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.
Message: Crank was an anti-choice extremist who wanted to restrict Coloradans’ freedoms.
¶ It Took Crank 11 Months To Vote To Release The Epstein Files, And He Did Only After Trump Signaled To House Republicans That He Approved
- Crank claimed he wanted the Epstein Files released, but it took him 11 months to vote to release the Epstein files. In November 2025, Crank finally voted to release the Epstein files, but only after Donald Trump gave House Republicans permission to do so.
- Previously, Crank had cast the deciding vote against releasing the Epstein files, protecting the accused pedophiles named within them. Crank also never signed the discharge petition that called for their release and he never co-sponsored Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna’s resolution calling for their release.
Message: Crank claimed Americans deserved the truth about the Epstein Files, but it took him 11 months to vote to release the Epstein files and he did only after Trump gave Republicans permission.
