¶ How To Win Against Brian Mast
Brian Mast has spent nine years in elected office actively making life harder for his constituents. Since first running for Congress, Mast has been transparent about wanting to rip away health care from millions of Americans. He said he was “committed to repealing and replacing” the Affordable Care Act, which in 2025 provided 4.7 million Floridians with health insurance. In 2025, he voted with Republican leaders to support the “Big Beautiful Bill” to kick roughly 17 million Americans off their health insurance. He later voted to make health insurance more expensive for the millions of Americans who relied on ACA enhanced premium subsidies. The “Big Beautiful Bill” also made the largest SNAP cut in history, which more than 28,500 households in his district relied on to afford groceries. He has admitted to wanting to raise the age of retirement for seniors to collect Social Security benefits and joined the Republican Study Committee, which advocated for raising the retirement age. Mast has even caused controversy in the past after old social media posts resurfaced where he made jokes about sex with underage girls and rape. Ultimately, Mast has been at the forefront of an agenda that has raised costs and taken health care from the people of Florida’s 21st congressional district.
¶ Mast Voted To Kick Roughly 17 Million Americans And More Than 50,000 Of His Own Constituents Off Their Health Insurance
- Mast voted for a bill that would kick 17 million Americans off their health insurance, including nearly 12 million Americans off of Medicaid. As a result of his vote, 50,790 of his own constituents could lose their health insurance.
- Mast was a strong opponent of the Affordable Care Act and said he was “committed to repealing and replacing” the legislation that gave 4.7 million Floridians health care as of 2025. In 2017, Mast supported a failed effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act. In 2026, Mast voted against extending the ACA enhanced premium tax credits that millions of Americans relied on, and ultimately led to 261,000 Floridians unenrolling from the Affordable Care Act.
Message: Mast has repeatedly voted to rip health care from Floridians.
¶ Mast Voted Against Lowering The Cost Of Prescription Drugs For Seniors On Medicare
- In 2022, Mast voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, which included provisions aimed at lowering the cost of prescription drugs for seniors on Medicare. He called the legislation “tyranny.”
Message: Mast betrayed Florida seniors who were paying too much out of pocket for life-saving prescription drugs.
¶ Mast Wanted To Raise The Social Security Retirement Age
- Mast claimed on his congressional website that one of his top priorities in Congress was protecting Social Security, but the truth is Mast wanted to raise the retirement age for seniors to collect Social Security. He advocated for gradually increasing the age at which people can collect Social Security. Mast was also a member of the Republican Study Committee, which advocated for raising the retirement age.
- Mast was a big fan of Trump’s “Department of Government Efficiency,” declaring DOGE had his “100% Support.” That support was unyielding even as DOGE weakened Americans’ ability to access the Social Security Administration with mass layoffs, longer wait times, and website crashes. More than 224,000 Floridians in the 21st congressional district relied on Social Security benefits.
Message: Mast supported policies that threatened Floridians’ Social Security benefits.
¶ Mast Voted To Cut Medicare Despite Claiming He Would Protect It
- Despite claiming he would always protect Medicare for seniors, Mast voted for the House Republicans’ reconciliation bill, which would trigger nearly $500 billion in Medicare cuts, absent future congressional action. Mast was also a member of the Republican Study Committee, which outlined a plan to turn Medicare into a voucher system.
Message: Mast voted to cut health care services seniors relied on after claiming he would protect them.
¶ Mast Voted To Cut Food Assistance For More Than 28,000 Floridians That Relied On It To Afford Groceries
- Mast voted for a bill that made the largest SNAP cut in history. His vote threatened food assistance for more than 28,500 households in Florida’s 21st congressional district.
Message: Mast voted to cut food assistance for his constituents to fund tax breaks for billionaires.
¶ Mast Was The Deciding Vote To Protect Trump’s Tariffs That Were Raising Prices On Floridians
- Mast praised Trump’s tariffs and claimed they were bringing “billions of dollars in new investments back to America.” He voted six times to back the tariffs, including in April 2025 when he was the deciding vote in Congress to protect them, dooming Florida families who relied on her to a trade war and spooking businesses. Tariffs were contributing to higher food prices, “mega-layoffs” across the country, and amounted to a $1,000 tax increase on Americans.
Message: Mast was the deciding vote to make Floridians pay higher prices at the grocery store.
¶ Mast Supported The Overturning Of Roe V. Wade, Which Allowed Florida To Institute A Dangerous Six-Week Abortion Ban
- When women across the country lost their right to choose following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Mast said he was “overjoyed” and called it a “great decision.” That ruling led to an dangerous six-week abortion ban being instituted in Florida. Mast has also previously suggested that some women used abortion as a form of birth control.
Message: Mast supported extreme anti-choice policies that endangered Florida women.
¶ It Took mast 11 Months To Vote To Release The Epstein Files, And He Only did After Trump Signaled To House Republicans That He Approved
- In November 2025, Mast voted to release the Epstein files, but only after Donald Trump gave House Republicans permission to do so. Previously, Mast had cast the deciding vote against releasing the Epstein files, protecting the accused pedophiles named within them. Mast also never signed the discharge petition that called for their release and he never co-sponsored Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna’s resolution calling for their release.
Message: Mast voted twice to protect the accused pedophiles named within the Epstein files. He only voted to release them once Trump said it was okay.
¶ Mast Faced Criticism For Resurfaced Social Media Posts Referencing Rape and Sex With Underage Girls
- In 2020, Mast apologized after old and inappropriate social media posts resurfaced on Facebook. In one 2009 post, Mast joked about sex with underage girls while commenting on a photo posted by his now-senior campaign advisor. In a 2011 post, Mast made a joke about rape with his now-senior campaign advisor.
Message: Florida’s 21st district deserves better than a congressman who thought sexual assault jokes were funny.
¶ Mast Violated Stock Trading Law Twice Since Being In Congress
- In 2022, Mast failed to disclose a $50,000 stock sale within the required time frame for members of Congress. In 2021, Mast failed to report a stock purchase of up to $100,000 within the required time frame for members of Congress. The 2021 stock trade also involved Mast buying stock in a company whose president had testified to a committee he sat on only a month earlier.
Message: Mast is just another DC swamp creature who believed the rules didn’t apply to him.
¶ Mast has been Tied To A Company Caught Defrauding Its Customers
- Mast was listed on the advisory board of a company accused by the Federal Trade Commission of defrauding thousands of people. Mast claimed he did not know he was being appointed to World Patent Marketing’s advisory board and downplayed his relationship with its owner Scott J. Cooper. Despite claiming to be unaware of his appointment to the board, the company’s website featured a quote attributed to Mast in the announcement post, as well as a picture of Mast and owner.
Message: Mast has been linked to a company that was caught defrauding its customers.
