¶ How To Win Against Brandon Herrera
Don’t just take it from us, Republicans have also denounced Brandon Herrera as a “goose-stepping extremist.” Herrera is completely unfit to serve in congress. Herrera, who was a well-known “gun-tuber” with millions of subscribers, used his platform to create content about mass shootings, joke about veteran suicide, and goose-step to a Nazi marching song. Herrera’s content was often disturbing and inappropriate for a prospective member of Congress.
As a congressman, Herrera promised to stand with President Trump and his agenda that cut health care and food assistance for thousands of Texans. If elected, Herrera would be just another vote for Trump’s price-hiking agenda. But even President Trump was wary of associating with Herrera at one point. Prior to endorsing Herrera’s campaign, Trump sent Herrera a cease-and-desist letter for using Trump’s image in his campaign materials. While Herrera eventually received Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson’s support, it was only after his Republican opponent suspended his campaign over allegations of sexual misconduct.
Herrera may have been Trump’s only option, but the people of TX-23 can make a different choice.

More than 4.7 million Texans relied on Medicare for health coverage.
- Trump’s “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) weakened the Social Security Administration and cost Texas hundreds of millions in federal contracts. DOGE cuts caused longer wait times, frequent website crashes, and mass layoffs in Social Security offices across the country, making it harder for Texas seniors to access their benefits. San Antonio businesses lost an estimated $375 million in federal contracts because of DOGE cuts, and Texas lost at least five Veterans' Affairs contracts.

In this video, Herrera and the creator strapped an assault weapon to a robotic dog. The creators even went as far as to film the robotic dog walking in front of a Uvalde CISD school bus. Later in the video, Herrera joined in testing the robotic dog strapped with the assault weapon on cartoon cutouts of children. 19 elementary school students and two teachers were killed in a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde Texas.
- Herrera’s gun content has attracted some disturbing followers. The suspect who killed two people and injured 17 at the Minneapolis church said their message was “sponsored” by “Brandon Herrera for president” and claimed they met Herrera at a gun show the previous year. The shooter also said they agreed with Herrera on “a lot of things.” Herrera said he was sickened by the attack and claimed he did not remember meeting the shooter. Additionally, the person who tried to assassinate Trump in 2024 wore a shirt associated with a content creator that Herrera had collaborated with.
- Herrera also celebrated the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse, who took an AR-15 style rifle to a 2020 protest in Kenosha, WI and shot three men, by drinking a cocktail Herrera called The Rittenhouse: a chaser, followed by three shots.
- One of Herrera’s key policy concerns was to eliminate the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the government agency tasked with investigating mass shooting events. In fact, the ATF helped handle the investigation following the Uvalde shooting.

- Herrera is also known for joking that a Nazi machine gun was “the original ghetto blaster” and “Hitler street sweeper.” In the same video he “goose-stepped” to a Nazi marching song. Herrera had previously played Nazi marching songs in a 2020 video about Nazi guns. He also boasted about owning a 1939 copy of “Mein Kampf.” In 2024, the Republican Jewish Coalition denounced him for being a “goose-stepping extremist.”
- Herrera also faced criticism for a joke he made about veteran suicide. During one of his podcast appearances, Herrera said, “If it makes everyone in the room feel better, I often think about putting a gun in my mouth so, I’m basically an honorary veteran.” Texas Republicans, including Terrell County Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland and Texas Border Czar Mike Banks criticized Herrera’s comment.
- Herrera frequently made comments unbecoming of a prospective member of congress. On many occasions, Herrera posted sexually explicit content as comments on Twitter, when responding to criticism, and joking around with his friends. More than once, Herrera told Twitter users to “Gnurgle My Balls.” Herrera often used an insult against disabled people, once even using a Nazi concentration camp photo and insults against disabled and LGTBQ+ people all in the same post. Herrera often used language that was meant to demean women casually on his social media. Herrera also made fun of women’s appearances. Finally, in one video where Herrera conducted a shooting test, he said he was using a ham as the target, which while expensive was “still cheaper than a homeless person.”

- In January 2026 Herrera received a cease-and-desist letter from President Trump’s Attorney after he published campaign materials using the Presidents’ image and likeness. Trump’s attorney even went as far as to say he would “use every lawful means to protect his supporters from attempts by Herrera and others to deceive them.”
- In 2024, Herrera made headlines after it resurfaced that he had mocked Barron Trump while he was still 17. In a video, Herrera joked with a fellow host who called Barron Trump “Slenderman” and in a mocking voice Herrera impersonated him and said “Daddy is coming, Daddy is angry”
