Attorney General Ken Paxton claimed that America’s moral and legal values originated with Christianity, but he cheated on his wife with two other women. His wife, Angela, filed for divorce on “biblical grounds.”
Ken Paxton’s Former Chief Of Staff Detailed Paxton’s Affair With A Woman In 2018 During His Impeachment Trial. According to the Texas Tribune, “Katherine ‘Missy’ Cary, the former chief of staff in the attorney general’s office, testified how she came to learn about the affair and how Paxton ultimately confessed to it. But perhaps most relevant to the case, Cary testified how she warned Paxton it could make him vulnerable to bribery, an allegation central to his impeachment. The dramatic testimony came as Paxton’s wife, Sen. Angela Paxton, listened on from the Senate floor. ‘My heart broke for her,’ Cary said of Angela Paxton, who is disqualified from voting in the trial but has to attend. The alleged affair is referenced in one of the articles of impeachment that is being tried. The article accuses Paxton of bribery because he ‘benefited from Nate Paul’s employment of a woman with whom Paxton was having an extramarital affair.’” [Texas Tribune, 9/11/23]
Paxton Confessed To His Chief Of Staff About His Affair With Laura Olson. According to the Texas Tribune, “Cary testified that her knowledge of the alleged affair all began in the spring of 2018 when she was eating lunch alone at Galaxy Cafe in Austin. She overheard a woman next to her having a conversation that troubled her, suggesting the woman was conveying ‘very personal’ information about Ken Paxton. Cary said she took her concerns to the attorney general, who said the woman was the real estate agent selling his condo in Austin. But later that spring, Cary said she saw the same woman at an official event in San Antonio and saw her name tag: Laura Olson. Cary said she then learned about the relationship from other people in the office and felt ‘surprised’ Paxton had lied to her about who Olson was. The relationship was impacting staff morale, Cary added, with Angela Paxton calling the office to try to track down her husband and staffers feeling ‘uncomfortable answering those questions.’ Cary eventually had a meeting with Paxton where they discussed the legal and ‘ethical implications of a secret affair,’ she said. Cary said they discussed that such conduct could ‘open one up to bribery and misuse of office’ — allegations at the center of his impeachment. In that meeting, Cary said Paxton confirmed he was having an affair but did not say whether it was with Olson. He was ‘contrite and he listened to what I had to say very carefully,’ Cary recalled.’” [Texas Tribune, 9/11/23]
Paxton Continued His Affair With Laura Olson, Which Created A Toxic Work Environment. According to the Texas Tribune, “But months later in 2019, Cary said, Paxton told her the affair was continuing. Cary said Paxton expressed that he ‘still loved Mrs. Olson’ and wanted Cary, as the chief of staff, to ‘be more accommodating’ of it when it came to things like his security detail. Cary said she told Paxton ‘quite bluntly it wasn’t my business who he was sleeping with, but that when things boiled over in to the office,’ it became a concern to her. In Cary’s telling, that comment enraged Paxton, who turned ‘red in the face,’ raised his voice and stormed out of her office.” [Texas Tribune, 9/11/23]
Paxton And His Lawyers Did Not Dispute His Infidelity But Tried To Downplay It. According to CNN, “Paxton’s lawyers never directly disputed the allegation but downplayed its relevance to the case. ‘Imagine if we impeached everybody here in Austin that had had an affair,’ Paxton lawyer Tony Buzbee said during the trial. ‘We’d be impeaching for the next 100 years, wouldn’t we?’” [CNN, 5/26/26]
Paxton Was Caught In His Second Affair With Tracy Duhon. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a key Trump ally now running for U.S. Senate, is accused of having an affair with a ‘Christian influencer’ he met last year, according to a report from a UK-based media outlet. The Daily Mail reported Friday that Paxton had been ‘caught in a shocking sex scandal’ involving Tracy Duhon, a 57-year-old author and mother of seven. She’s the former wife of a Louisiana-based businessman who owns the Premier Automotive dealership group. Paxton, 62, met Duhon at the 2024 Kentucky Derby when she was still married, and the pair stayed at the home of a mutual friend during the visit, according to the Daily Mail, which cited ‘multiple’ unnamed sources allegedly familiar with the incident. Citing those same sources, the Daily Mail reported that Paxton and Duhon often took trips together without their spouses’ knowledge, including jaunts overseas. Two months after the Kentucky Derby, Duhon filed for divorce from her husband, according to the report.” [San Antonio Current, 9/13/25]
Current Revolt Received A Tip In May 2025 That Paxton Was Staying At The Drover Hotel, Under The Name “Kyle,” And Was Seen At The Pool Having “Questionable Interactions” With A Woman Who Wasn’t His Wife. According to the Daily Mail, “Current Revolt, a Texas political website, said it received a tip in May that Paxton was seen at the Drover Hotel pool wearing a bathing suit while having ‘questionable interactions’ with a woman who wasn’t his wife. He was known to use the name ‘Kyle’ during frequent visits to the hotel, the outlet reported. That report came shortly after Daily Mail's bombshell expose revealing how 62-year-old Paxton was carrying on an affair with Duhon, hidden from both their spouses.” [Daily Mail, 9/18/25]
Paxton And Duhon Met At The 2024 Kentucky Derby And Began Their Affair The Same Month; The Pair “Had Multiple Rendezvous On Trips Across The Country And Even Overseas, According To Insiders.” According to the Daily Mail, “Texas's controversial Attorney General has been caught in a shocking sex scandal - less than two years after cheating on his wife with his mistress. The Daily Mail can exclusively reveal Ken Paxton, 62, was secretly seeing a married Christian influencer behind the backs of both their partners. Multiple sources confirm mother-of-seven Tracy Duhon, 57, who is also an author, is the reason the politician's relationship crumbled earlier this summer. [...] The romance between Duhon and Paxton started after the pair met at the Kentucky Derby last year, multiple sources revealed. Angela Paxton Filed For Divorce On “Biblical Grounds.” According to The Texas Tribune, “State Sen. Angela Paxton announced Thursday she has filed for divorce from her husband, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. ‘I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation,’ Angela Paxton, R-McKinney, said in a post on X. ‘But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage.’ In her divorce filing, Senator Paxton alleged that her husband had committed adultery, listing it as the ‘grounds for divorce.’ The couple stopped living together more than a year ago — ‘on or about June 1, 2024' — according to a copy of the filing obtained by The Texas Tribune.” [Texas Tribune, 7/10/25]
