2022: Salazar Violated Several Conflict Of Interest Laws After Improperly Disclosing A Six-Figure Stock Trade. According to Business Insider, "Freshman Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, a Republican from Florida, appears to have violated a federal conflicts-of-interest law by improperly disclosing a 6-figure stock trade, according to congressional financial filings reviewed by Insider. The development comes two years after Salazar blasted her congressional predecessor, former Democratic Rep. Donna Shalala, for herself violating the same law, known as the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act." [Business Insider, 6/17/22]
2022: Salazar Reported A Trade Worth Up To $500,000 More Than Two Months Late In Violation Of The STOCK Act. According to Business Insider, "On June 10, Salazar disclosed in a congressional financial filing that, on February 14, she had received up to $500,000 worth of publicly traded stock in Cano Health Inc., a company that provides health care services for seniors. The STOCK Act requires members of Congress to disclose individual stock trades no later than 45 days after they're made, meaning Salazar's disclosure is more than two months late." 2023: Salazar Disclosed A Stock Trade Of Her Spouse’s Worth Up To $15,000 Late, Which Was In Violation Of The STOCK Act. According to Raw Story, "Salazar, a Republican, was late in disclosing her spouse’s $1,001 to $15,000 sale of stock in Florida renewable energy company, NextEra Energy Partners — an apparent violation of the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act, according to a Raw Story review of federal financial disclosures. The law requires federal lawmakers to report within 45 days any individual stock, bond, Treasury security or cryptocurrency transactions they, their spouses or dependent children conduct. While Salazar was just a few days late filing her May 31 financial disclosure, and the trade itself wasn't particularly large, the congresswoman has been notably outspoken about STOCK Act violations, publicly shaming a political rival for failing to disclose stock trades on time."
