2022: Schweikert Voted Against Requiring The Defense Department To Increase Energy Resiliency Of Each Military Base In The U.S. European Command Zone, Aimed At Eliminating Usage Of Russian Energy In Five Years. In July 2022, according to Congressional Quarterly, Schweikert voted against the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023, which would "require the department to make plans to increase the energy resiliency of each main operating base in the U.S. European Command zone, with a goal of eliminating the use of Russian energy within five years." The vote was on passage. The House passed the bill by a vote 329-101, thus the bill was sent to the Senate. The Senate did not take substantive action on the legislation.
