In April 2013, Schweikert voted against a motion to recommit that would have, according to Congressional Quarterly, "require[d] that, when practicable, all materials used for conduit hydropower generation be manufactured in the United States." The underlying legislation was the Bureau of Reclamation Small Conduit Hydropower Development and Rural Jobs Act. The vote was on a motion to recommit.
