Mike Lindell, pillow salesman and election conspiracy theorist owned a media company, LindellTV, which promoted policies that harmed regular Minnesotans and enriched the wealthy. LindellTV praised Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which put 161,000 Minnesotans at risk of losing health insurance, cut $500 billion in Medicare funding, reduced food assistance for 186,000 Minnesotan households relying on SNAP, and killed green energy jobs in Minnesota’s fastest growing industry. Lindell also supported Trump’s tariffs, which made gas in Minnesota more expensive and threatened the state’s agricultural industry. Mike Lindell’s broadcast and streaming company, LindellTV, praised Trump’s DOGE cuts, which impacted 1.15 million Minnesotans on Social Security and 20,000 federal employees. Lindell said he would like to completely ban abortion in Minnesota, and previously financed a Christian, anti-abortion propaganda film. Additionally, Lindell was a preeminent 2020 presidential election conspiracy theorist who faced multiple defamation lawsuits, and promoted a “plant poison” coronavirus treatment during the 2020 pandemic, which he stood to profit from.
¶ Lindell’s Media Company Supported Devastating Cuts To Medicaid And The Affordable Care Act
- In 2025, Lindell’s media company supported Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which was estimated to kick 17 million Americans off their health insurance, including nearly 12 million Americans who rely on Medicaid. More than 161,000 Minnesotans could lose their health insurance as a result of the bill.
- LindellTV opposed Medicaid expansion and the Affordable Care Act, saying they were “riddled with fraud.” More than 151,000 Minnesotans were enrolled in Affordable Care Act Marketplace health insurance plans. LindellTV called Medicaid work requirements a “key win,” even though more than 108,000 Medicaid recipients in Minnesota were expected to lose their coverage by 2034 due to Trump’s tax bill.

- In 2025, Lindell and his media company praised Trump’s tariffs, which doomed Minnesotans to a trade war and rising prices. Since Canada, Mexico, and China were Minnesota’s largest trading partners, tariffs impacted the state’s agricultural industry, oil imports, and the ore industry.
- Despite this, Lindell said tariffs were “bringing back respect to America on the world stage,” even as the U.S. stock market crashed due to Trump’s escalating global trade war.

LindellTV praised the Trump administration for implementing stronger proof-of-identity requirements and exposing “SNAP fraud.” In Minnesota, more than 186,000 households relied on SNAP to afford groceries.

- Lindell’s 2026 campaign platform promised to cut “wasteful spending” and cut income, business, and sales taxes, which primarily funded education and health and human services in Minnesota, among other state agencies.
- LindellTV promoted DOGE even though it resulted in federal funding cuts that were affecting the federal government’s ability to deliver services to seniors. More than 1.15 million Minnesotans relied on Social Security benefits. DOGE also cut funding to AmeriCorps, affordable housing nonprofits, and National Endowment for the Humanities grants. Federal layoffs threatened the livelihoods of 20,000 federal employees in Minnesota and canceled leases for 11 federal offices.

- In 2025, Lindell’s media company supported Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which repealed clean energy tax credits and made them harder to access, threatening clean energy jobs in Minnesota.
- In 2024, Minnesota’s clean energy industry grew two times faster than the state’s overall workforce, adding 1,700 jobs. However, Energy Innovation predicted the “One Big Beautiful Bill” would kill 23,000 jobs and increase household energy bills by $2.7 billion over the next decade in Minnesota.

¶ Lindell Was An Anti-Abortion Extremist
- Lindell was an out-of-touch anti-abortion extremist, who supported abortion bans.
- In December 2025, while discussing his upcoming gubernatorial run, Lindell said he would “absolutely” try to change Minnesota’s abortion laws, and would “100 percent” “like to” ban abortion altogether.
- In 2019, Lindell financed a Christian, anti-abortion film titled “Unplanned.” The film itself featured scientifically inaccurate depictions of abortions and misrepresentations of Planned Parenthood, and the makers of the film said they hoped it would “trigger ‘the cultural moment that overturns Roe v. Wade.’”
Message: Lindell threatened the reproductive freedoms of Minnesotans.
¶ Lindell Was A Big Lie Conspiracy Theorist
- Lindell was a preeminent 2020 presidential election conspiracy theorist who financially supported efforts to overturn the election and spread voter fraud theories. Lindell claimed the January 6th insurrection was a leftist “setup,” directed “Absolute Proof,” a documentary theorizing the Chinese government infiltrated the 2020 election, and accused Dominion Voting Systems of rigging the 2020 election and deleting votes for Trump.
- Election technology companies Dominion and Smartmatic both sued Lindell for defamation over his stolen election claims. Lindell was found liable for defamation for accusing Smartmatic voting machines of rigging the election, and for accusing a former Dominion employee of “treason.”
- Despite losing multiple lawsuits, Lindell maintained his belief that the 2020 election was stolen, and continued to advocate for banning voting machines in 2025, and instead using hand-counted paper ballots.

¶ Lindell Promoted A “Plant Poison” He Stood To Profit From As A Coronavirus Treatment
- In 2020, Lindell promoted oleandrin as a treatment for coronavirus, which was derived from a what medical ethnobotanist Cassandra Quave called a “deadly plant poison,” and which Lindell stood to profit from.
- Lindell met with Trump and his coronavirus task force to pitch oleandrin, which Lindell claimed Trump was “enthusiastic” about. Lindell also promoted the product on television and claimed he used it himself.
- Oleandrin was derived from the plant oleander, which was toxic and potentially fatal and known to cause heart problems. Oleandrin was not properly tested for treating coronavirus, and the only study showing potential effectiveness was not peer reviewed and authored by Robert Newman, the president of Phoenix Biotechnology, the company that manufactured the product. Additionally, Lindell served on the board of Phoenix Biotechnology, and therefore held a financial stake in the success of oleandrin.
Message: Lindell was willing to risk the health and safety of Minnesotans during a global pandemic in order to fill his own pockets.
