2022: Fitzpatrick Voted To Extend The Afghan Special Immigrant Visa
Program By One Year And The Visa Application Deadline Through 2024. In
July 2022, according to Congressional Quarterly, Fitzpatrick voted for
the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023, which would
"extend the Afghan special immigrant visa program by one year, extending
the application deadline through 2024." The vote was on passage. The
House passed the bill by a vote 329-101, thus the bill was sent to the
Senate. The Senate did not take substantive action on the legislation.
