Andy Ogles is just another corrupt politician who doesn’t think the rules apply to him. Ogles was a perpetual liar who has done nothing but betray his constituents. Ogles lied to get elected to congress, fabricating his resume to seem more impressive, including fake jobs, board positions, and degrees. He lied on his campaign finance reports, inflating his numbers and making up loans from himself to appear wealthier than he was. His campaign finance lies led to investigations, including one by the FBI. He submitted inaccurate and incomplete personal financial disclosures. In congress, Ogles voted to rip health insurance away from millions of Americans, including thousands of Tennesseans. He was a staunch opponent of the Affordable Care Act and wanted to be the guy that “killed” the landmark legislation that expanded health care access for millions of Americans. He led the charge to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act which capped prescription drug costs for seniors. He supported cuts to Medicare and was part of a group that sought to raise the Social Security retirement age. The only thing Ogles knows how to do best is lie and rip away critical services from Tennesseans.
Ogles voted for House Republicans’ budget bill, which would kick 17 million Americans off their health insurance, including 12 million Americans on Medicaid, all to give tax breaks to billionaires. More than 30,000 Tennesseans in Ogles’ district were projected to lose their health coverage as result of his votes.
Even before getting elected to congress, Ogles led the campaign that killed Medicaid expansion in Tennessee, keeping access to health coverage away from 476,000 Tennesseans.
Ogles also opposed the Affordable Care Act and said he wanted to be the one to “kill” the law. Most recently, he voted against extending enhanced health care tax credits and as a result Tennesseans are facing dramatic premium increases.
Message: Ogles not only voted to take health care from Tennesseans, he led the charge against expanding Medicaid, which would have allowed more Tennesseans to get access to health insurance.
Ogles has led the charge in congress to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act, which capped insulin costs at $35 per month for Medicare beneficiaries and lowered prescription drug costs for Medicare beneficiaries.
Ogles voted for the House Republicans’ 2025 reconciliation bill, which would trigger nearly $500 billion in Medicare cuts absent future congressional action.
Ogles was a member of the Republican Study Committee, which had advocated for turning Medicare into a voucher system and raising the Social Security retirement age.
Ogles enthusiastically supported Trump’s “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), which weakened the Social Security Administration by forcing mass layoffs, longer wait times, and frequent website crashes. More than 134,925 Tennesseans in the 5th congressional district relied on Social Security benefits.
Message: Ogles led the charge to repeal the law that lowers prescription drug costs for seniors, actively supported an effort that affected services seniors rely on, and belonged to a group who proposals would negatively impact Medicare and Social Security.
Ogles voted for a bill that made the largest SNAP cut in history. More than 14,000 Tennesseans in the fifth congressional district relied on SNAP to afford groceries.
Ogles fully backed Trump’s tariffs. Then he voted six times to protect the tariffs, including in April 2025, when he cast the deciding vote to protect them, despite the harm they brought to Tennessee small businesses and manufacturers. One Nashville business owner claimed, “no retailer in the U.S. can absorb these increases.”
Message: Ogles voted for tariffs that raised prices on Tennesseans while also voting to take away food assistance Tennesseans relied on to afford groceries.
Ogles celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Following the Supreme Court decision, Tennessee’s trigger law, which completely outlawed abortion with only limited medical emergency exceptions went into effect. In 2026, as a result, Tennessee lawmaker have even proposed legislation to criminalize women for obtaining abortions.
His campaign website declared his belief that life began at conception, and he has cosponsored the “Life At Conception Act,” a nationwide abortion ban, multiple times. Ogles was so obsessed with attacking women’s reproductive rights that the only health care-related bill he has introduced in the 119th congress so far was about imposing a nationwide ban on medication abortion.
Ogles even backed a different state’s six-week abortion ban. He also dismissed the need to consider abortion ban exceptions by claiming exceptions were “a red herring used by the left and radicals to try and taint the conversation.”
Message: Ogles was an anti-choice extremist who supported abortion bans that put Tennessee women at risk.
In 2022, Ogles falsely reported that he loaned his own campaign $320,000, which led to investigations into his campaign finances. The nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center filed an ethics complaint, which then led to a House Ethics Committee investigation. Ogles admitted in May 2024 to loaning his campaign only $20,000.
The Office of Congressional Ethics found Ogles “may have violated federal law” and could have “intentionally misrepresented the amount of money he loaned to his campaign” in order to create “the appearance that his campaign had more money than it did.” The FBI also got involved in investigating Ogles, even raiding his home to seize his cell phone. However, since Trump became president in 2025 again there has been no public movement in the federal investigation and the judge that was overseeing the case retired in January 2026.
Ogles has faced other scrutiny of his campaign finances. In 2022, the FEC fined his campaign $5,750 for violations including late reports, illegal contributions, and insufficient documents. In the same year he was also found to have over-embellished his fundraising haul, claiming that in the first 30 days of his campaign he raised $453,000 when his receipts showed he had only raised $264,000.
Message: Ogles is just another corrupt politician who puts himself above the rule of law.

Message: Ogles is a corrupt politician who lied to his constituents to get where he is.
In 2014, Ogles raised nearly $25,000 on GoFundMe for a burial garden for stillborn children, but he never made it. Ogles blamed government bureaucracy for his inability to successfully put the GoFundMe money toward a burial, despite any evidence proving government regulation was a barrier.
In 2023, Ogles shared a statement muddying the waters even more on where the GoFundMe money went. He claimed the funds were supposed to help “other families struggling with grief,” and went to “direct financial support for families covering the cost of funeral expenses and other needs for their children as opportunities to help arose.”
Donors to his GoFundMe campaign have demanded to know what he did with the money and demanded refunds.
Message: Ogles couldn’t be trusted with charitable contributions; he certainly can’t be trusted with taxpayer money.
Message: Ogles is another corrupt politician who doesn’t believe the rules apply to him.
In 2025, Ogles was filmed going in and out of a $3.7 million townhouse that was owned by Tennessee businessman Lee Beaman, a big Republican donor. The townhouse was also reportedly where Speaker Mike Johnson lived and served as a base of operations for an evangelical pastor who sought to influence policy.
Beaman and Ogles have a long history. They got to know each other when Ogles was Tennessee Director of Americans for Prosperity. In 2017, when Ogles announced he would run for Senate, Beaman said he planned to raise $4 million to support Ogles’ candidacy. In 2022, Beaman briefly served as the treasurer of Ogles’ campaign, during the same time period Ogles falsely claimed to have loaned his campaign $320,000. Beaman now denies he had any substantial involvement in Ogles’ campaign finances. Beaman was a max-out donor to Ogles’ 2022 and 2024 congressional campaigns. Beaman also donated tens of thousands of dollars to a super PAC that has spent tens of thousands of dollars in support of Ogles’ 2022 and 2024 congressional campaigns.
Ogles has pushed policy in congress that both Beaman and the pastor have advocated for. He supported efforts to repeal corporate average fuel economy standards, which they advocated for as well. He pushed an effort to make it easier to fire federal government employees, something Beaman and the pastor have advocated for.
Message: Ogles might live in a townhouse in DC owned by a major Republican donor and has pushed policies the donor has also advocated for.
Message: Ogles was all talk when it came to releasing the Epstein files – he didn’t vote to release them until Trump told him it was okay.
