The Des Moines Register found that Lahn’s private plane took 37 trips to Wichita and spent 75 nights in Wichita between October 2025 and May 2026. Lahn said that if he wins the gubernatorial election, he would “be in Iowa as much as humanly possible.” Lahn re-registered to vote in Iowa in October 2024, barely qualifying for Iowa’s residence requirement to run for Iowa governor, after living in Kansas and voting in Kansas elections from 2018 to 2022. Lahn Said That If He Becomes Iowa Governor, He And His Family Would “Be In Iowa As Much As Humanly Possible.” According to the Des Moines Register, "Lahn said he is not always the one to fly the plane, but he appreciates being able to make the roughly 60- to 90-minute flight to see the children or attend events. 'I'm in Iowa the majority of the time, a tremendous amount of time,' he said. 'And I have an airplane, and when I need to go down for things with the kids, it's an hour flight for me. And so I just try to make sure I'm fulfilling that obligation as best as I can. … I have no worries that we'll be able to fulfill every duty we need to on the campaign or as governor.'
