Randy Feenstra built his career claiming to fight for Iowan families but voted to cut medical services and nutrition assistance while raising costs for Iowans. He voted to rip health insurance away from thousands of Iowans, supported massive cuts to Medicare, and backed the largest SNAP cuts in history. Feenstra cast the deciding vote to protect Trumpâs tariffs, which drove up grocery prices and hurt small businesses and farmers across Iowa. He stood by while Trumpâs DOGE cuts shut down federal offices, reduced nonprofit funding, and threatened the livelihoods of federal workers and seniors who rely on Social Security services. Feenstra previously recognized the importance of biofuel credits for Iowaâs economy, yet he supported GOP plans to gut the Inflation Reduction Actâs clean-energy incentives and jeopardize Iowa jobs. He advanced an extreme anti-abortion agenda, co-sponsored legislation establishing personhood at fertilization, and repeatedly voted against protecting abortion rights, contraception access, and out-of-state reproductive care. Feenstra initially voted against releasing the Epstein files and only supported their release once Trump approved it. He also promoted election denial claims and defended Trump after the January 6th insurrection.
¶ Feenstra Voted For Devastating Health Care Cuts
- In 2025, Randy Feenstra voted for a bill that is estimated to kick 17 million Americans off their health insurance, including nearly 12 million Americans who rely on Medicaid. Nearly 107,000 Iowans could lose their health insurance as a result of Feenstraâs vote. Randy Feenstra supported work requirements for Medicaid under Trumpâs âOne Big Beautiful Bill,â even though 58,721 Medicaid recipients in Iowa were expected to lose their coverage by 2034.
- Randy Feenstra opposed Affordable Care Act tax credits that reduced insurance costs for middle-income families, and instead promoted market competition and cash-payer discounts without a plan to protect people with pre-existing conditions. Nearly 137,000 Iowans were enrolled in Affordable Care Act Marketplace health insurance plans. The âOne Big Beautiful Billâ and expiring ACA tax credits would result in 106,000 uninsured Iowans by 2034.

¶ Feenstra Voted For Massive Cuts To Medicare
- In 2025, Randy Feenstra voted for a bill that the Congressional Budget Office estimated would trigger $500 billion in cuts to Medicare. In 2022, Feenstra voted against a bill that would have made insulin more affordable for up to 230,000 Iowans under Medicare by capping monthly costs at $35.

¶ Feenstra WAS THE DECIDING VOTE TO PROTECT TRUMPâS TARIFFS
- In 2025, Randy Feenstra voted five times to protect Trumpâs tariffs, including in April when he was the deciding vote to protect the tariffs from being repealed by Congress, dooming Iowans who relied on him to a trade war and rising prices. Tariffs are contributing to higher food prices and are hurting Iowa small businesses and farmers. In April 2025, Trumpâs devastating tariffs cost Iowa businesses nearly $90 million.
- Despite this, Randy Feenstra told Iowans to trust Trumpâs team to âdo their magic,â even though the U.S. stock market crashed due to Trumpâs escalating global trade war.

¶ Feenstra Stripped SNAP Benefits From Iowa Families
- In 2025, Randy Feenstra touted he was a âkey authorâ of Trumpâs âOne Big Beautiful Billâ and voted for the largest SNAP cuts in history. Randy Feenstra supported work requirements for SNAP recipients under Trumpâs âOne Big Beautiful Bill.â In Iowa, more than 260,000 people relied on SNAP to afford groceries.
Message: Randy Feenstra voted to make food more expensive for Iowans.
¶ Feenstra stood by while trump attacked social security and fired hard-working Iowans
- In 2025, Randy Feenstra praised Trumpâs âDepartment of Government Efficiencyâ as DOGE-driven cuts and downsizing were affecting the federal governmentâs ability to deliver services to seniors. More than 701,000 Iowans relied on Social Security benefits.
- Randy Feenstra joined the DOGE Caucus and promoted codifying DOGE cuts even though it resulted in federal funding cuts to Iowa nonprofits. Inspired by Trumpâs DOGE, Iowa DOGE also threatened state workforce programs. Trump threatened the livelihoods of nearly 22,000 federal workers in Iowa as DOGE cuts also closed federal offices in Iowa.
Message: While Social Security lines grew and Iowa workers were laid off, Randy Feenstra did nothing to help them.
¶ Feenstraâs Votes Threatened Clean Energy Jobs In Iowa
- In 2025, Randy Feenstra voted to repeal clean energy tax credits and make them harder to access, threatening clean energy jobs in Iowa.
- Clean energy advocates warned the âOne Big Beautifull Billâsâ provisions to eliminate clean-energy tax credits put Iowaâs job growth and utility costs at risk.
- Prior to voting for the repeal of clean energy tax credits in 2025, Feenstra was aware of the importance of biofuel tax credits for Iowaâs farmers and economy. In 2023, Feenstra voted for the Limit, Save, Grow Act only after proposed cuts to biofuel tax credits were removed from the legislation.

¶ Feenstra Was An Anti-Abortion Extremist
- Randy Feenstra was an out-of-touch anti-abortion extremist, who used religious justifications for restricting abortion access.
- In Congress, Randy Feenstra repeatedly voted to strip Americans of their reproductive rights. Randy Feenstra voted against codifying abortion protections in federal law and he voted against protecting out-of-state abortion services and protecting interstate movement of FDA-approved abortion drugs. Feenstra also voted against codifying the right to access contraception in federal law. In his first 100 days in Congress, Feenstra co-sponsored the âLife at Conception Act,â establishing personhood at fertilization. Feenstra opposed efforts to fund abortion services, and supported Iowaâs fetal heartbeat bill and pledged to defend the law after a judge blocked it.
- Feenstra invoked his religion to advocate for a 15-week abortion ban and pre-viability abortion restrictions that would roll back reproductive rights.

¶ Feenstra Voted To Release The Epstein Files After 11 Months, Only Because Trump Finally Approved Of The Release
- It took Randy Feenstra 11 months to vote for the release of the Epstein files, only after Trump told House Republicans he approved of the release.
- Randy Feenstra never signed the discharge petition, never co-sponsored the legislation, and previously voted against the release of the files. In July and September 2025, Randy Feenstra cast the deciding votes against releasing the Epstein files, protecting the accused pedophiles named within them.
Message: Despite previously voting against releasing the Epstein files, Randy Feenstra ultimately voted for the release of the Epstein files only because Trump approved of the release.
¶ Feenstra Was An Election Denier
- In 2020, Randy Feenstra refused to acknowledge Joe Bidenâs 2020 presidential election victory. Feenstra even signed a letter urging House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to investigate the election results and shared baseless claims alleging Iowa counties did not follow election laws in their handling of mail-in ballots.
